Valbonne
Valbonne is located on the Côte d’Azur in Provence in Southern France. The charming medieval village offers many restaurants and specialty shops. There is a market every Friday. Valbonne is a medieval Provençal town between Cannes and Grasse, situated on the Brague river, 15 km from the river’s source in Opio.
It is located in the department of Alpes-Maritimes, in the canton of Le Bar-sur-Loup. Valbonne, in Latin ‘Vallis bona’, means: ‘the good valley’.
This village is radically different from the vast majority of Provençal villages. This village was built according to a strict architectural plan created by the monks of the Lérins Island. This island lies off the coast of Cannes.
The village is surrounded by fortified houses and has no fewer than four entrances, one on each side. As you try to find your way through the maze of streets in the old village, you will undoubtedly pass the Place des Arcades, dating from the 17th century, and the town hall. You can also admire a magnificent fountain where horses and donkeys could quench their thirst for years.

Café des Arcades – Valbonne
Our favorite restaurant in Valbonne is Café des Arcades on the central square in Valbonne, where it is always busy. They not only serve the best pizzas, but the Salade Niçoise is also delicious.
It is also an ideal restaurant with children – the car-free square is bustling with play. It is also a lovely spot in the morning to read the newspaper with a cup of coffee.
Restaurant Café des Arcades is open all year round for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
