Ile Sainte Marguerite –  Lerins Islands

Island off the coast of Cannes

Ile Sainte Marguerite: Lunch or walk – with your own boat or from the port in Cannes with the Ferry in about 15 minutes to Ile Sainte Marguerite.

Ile Sainte Marguerite

You can get to Ile Sainte Marguerite from the harbor in Cannes to the right of the Palais de Festival (there is also a large parking lot) with the Ferry in about 15 minutes to Ile Sainte Marguerite. There are beautiful walking routes on the island (around 10 km to walk around the entire island, but you can make it as long as you want) and two restaurants. It is useful to book the boat online, this saves around EUR 1.50. Tickets purchased at the port are EUR 13.50 pp return for adults. Children receive a discount. You can book online at

From the ferry to Marguerite you have a magnificent view of Cannes and the luxury hotels such as the Martinez, Carlton, Majestic Barriere, Miramar but also the Esterel Mountains behind and Palais de Festival.

On the island you can enjoy lunch at La Guerite or at L’escale. Restaurant La Guerite is very expensive but you have a beautiful view of Cannes. In winter there is not much open on the island and the ferry also sails less frequently.

Restaurant La Guerite

From Restaurant La Guerite you have a beautiful view over Cannes but beware this is a very expensive restaurant and the portions are very small.

La Guérite is closed during the winter season and usually reopens in April. From June to August also open for dinner, before and afterwards only for lunch. It is advisable to book in advance. There is regular music or a DJ playing. (can also be noisy)

Since 1935, a global clientele has been seduced by the charm, authenticity and cuisine of La Guérite, which is both Mediterranean and healthy.

La Guérite is located on the rocky cove of the Sainte-Marguerite island of Cannes and has 1000 m2 of space where you can come and discover the authentic Mediterranean cuisine created by one of the wonders of Greek gastronomy: Yiannis Kioroglou.
