Chateau de Berne Flayosc (near Draguignan)

About Chateau de Berne

Chateau de Berne in Flayosc (approx. 125 km from Valbonne) is a beautiful winery near Draguignon. Definitely worth a visit and they also make very tasty and affordable wines. With a luxury restaurant and an affordable bistro, a wonderful address for lunch.

The drive to the vineyard alone is worth the effort. For a few kilometers you drive through the vineyards and olive groves, after which you arrive at a plain at 330 m height where you have a fantastic view over the ramparts of the Moors, 500 hectares of nature and 121 hectares of vineyard and olive grove. The Château de Bern winery is located in the heart of Provencal landscapes and on the one hand offers the 5-star Relais & Châteaux hotel, on the other hand the wine cellar and the shop. The domain is dedicated to the wine tourism where authenticity and the art of living are of paramount importance. The Château de Berne receives around 30,000 guests a year.

The wines of the chateau are very recognizable – all wines, white, rosé and red, are bottled in square bottles.

Restaurant & Bistro

We had lunch at the Bistro during our visit to Chateau de Berne. A cute restaurant with red and white checkered tablecloths with a delicious menu  (also for children) with regional dishes reminiscent of the classics of French cuisine. But also a large selection of pizzas.

Le Jardin de Benjamin

Le Jardin de Benjamin is the Michelin star restaurant of Chateau de Berne. We have not eaten here but just looked inside and it looks beautiful with a beautiful expansive terrace with the shade of olive trees.

Inside in a neoclassical decor, you can sit under the light-flooded window or in the cozy lounges with their warm, intimate ambiance. The beautifully decorated room in beige and earth tones has a lush authentic look. The typical atmosphere of the region is reflected in the table decoration, which is very close to Chef Benjamin Collombat.
