Biot Côte d’Azur
Biot is a nice authentic Provencal village with many restaurants and terraces located in Alpes Maritimes on the Cote d’Azur. Approximately 5 km from Villa Valbonne.
Biot is located in the heart of the Côte d’Azur between Nice and Cannes, five minutes from the Mediterranean Sea. Biot is also known from The Musee National Fernand Leger. The museum’s collection consists of around 350 works of art by Fernand Legér. There are both paintings and sculptures of him. Because the works date from different periods, it is easy to follow developments in his oeuvre. The ceramics museum is also located in Biot, the museum has a beautiful collection of ornamental fountains, pots, costumes, story crafts and photos evoking a way of life long gone. One space is reserved for temporary exhibitions of contemporary ceramics.
In addition, the great Dutch sculptor Kees Verkade lives in Biot and there is a beautiful statue of him in the shopping street, definitely worth seeing.
